SCENE: Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s rushing through the basement of the US Capitol, when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo snags this brief interview with the Massachusetts progressive.

Matt Laslo: “How are you ma’am?”

Elizabeth Warren: “I’m doing fine. How are you doing?”

ML: “Living the dream.”

EW: “Oh, you bet.”

ML: “Was curious your thoughts on AOC [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] saying that Senate Democrats are rolling over on the Constitution.”

EW: “I don’t have any comment on that.”

ML: “No?”

ML: “Are we in the midst of a Democratic civil war?”

EW: “We are in the midst of a Constitutional crisis, provoked by co-presidents of the United States — Musk and Trump. Who don’t think that either the Constitution or statutory law applies to them. We’re fighting back on every front, but make no mistake, we’re fighting an enemy that does not follow the law and that makes it pretty tough for lawmakers.”

ML: “Yeah, thank you!”
