SCENE: Sen. Ron Johnson’s walking through a crowded Capitol hallway when Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo briefly catches him before he hops an elevator.

Matt Laslo: “Do you think Musk is hanging your party down — is a weight on your party at all?”

Ron Johnson: “No. No, he was helpful.”

ML: “You think he was helpful?”

RJ: “Yeah. This is ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ and they’re fired up, the other side is fired up, and of course our folks didn’t realize what they needed to do.”

ML: “Yeah?”

Johnson hops elevator.

ML: “Thank you sir.”
